About
My Patek Philippe
The era of love, care, artistic talent and self-pride in the finished product, coupled with cheap labor and materials is now virtually over, unfortunately. However, this tradition is still alive in the house of Patek Philippe. As with several other brand-names, survival is the answer to the changing world of today. As a result of which, we see watches which are not worth a second glance but the price they carry is worth a second thought, relative to its worthiness.
The spirit and prowess of Antoine Norbert de Patek and Jean Adrien Philippe are still flowing in the blood of the watchmakers at Patek Philippe Geneva. As a result of which, since 1851 till today, a Patek Philippe watch is not only about time-keeping of technical excellence but a proud possession to be worn and treasured for generations to come.
It is hoped, all participants and their friends will enjoy this blog.
Hello! I discovered this blog after reading a question of yours that had been posted in an eBay auction for a 1950s Omega Constellation (auction #300380458928). After searching for the perfect watch for my girlfriend, I ended up winning this beauty. The dial has been refinished, of course, so I expect that it would be of little interest to a collector such as yourself. In fact, it’s been refinished in 1960s style. Still, the watch has an early Constellation case, which I intend to polish. I believe that the bezel is solid 14k gold, although I will not be able to tell until I receive the watch. The buckle appears to be much newer than the watch, but it seems to be genuine Omega. I plan to put a new red crocodile strap on it in time for our anniversary. Thought you would like to know that this watch will be going to a good home. Best regards, Mike.
Hello, as above mentioned, I also new you from the comment left in EBay auction.
That’s a great timepice that deserves this note and the best wishes for the new owner soon.
I’m also a collector and try to place all then as much original as possible using spare parts from ebay auction as well. My main interest is on 8 Days ones such as this Omega, Mido, Hahn Landeron, Octava, Doxa, Waltham, Elgin, LeCoultre, Lemania and so on… . I also like Shp Chronometre such as Hamilton 21 and 22 and so on too. I have now about 5000 of them and about 500 is MINT and very accurate, others 1000 is working fine but has some detail still needing more attention and … a lot of rich spare parts.
Get in contact if you want to share more of our hobby. I’m an retired Naval Officer and Master Marine, which eventually go back to the sea for short periods as they request my services and God helps giving me Helth!.
Best Regards
Carlos

Hi Peter
after reading about your passion for your patek phillipe i thought ill let you know about my experince i am currently trying to get repaired a patek philippe in which my watchmaker told me he could not get parts however after reasearching myself i found a new ebay store which holds patek parts in aust i was able to get my centre wheel for my 12-400 and give it to my watchmaker myself i thought ill never get it fixed locally. Have you had these same problems in the past?
Hi Boss
Thanks for the correspondence.
Personally and based on my little experience, I would only send in my Patek Philippe watch for service or repair to an authorised PP Service Station, so as to get the optimum after-sales service offered by this premier watch house. The charges are reasonable and you can sleep in peace. after that.
